Last weekend, I had the privilege of participating in the Design Montreal Open House.
I had a mandate to organize the open house of Future Cities Group on Sunday, May 5th.
I decided to take the Saturday to visit some of the firms that had opened their doors to the public. I discovered the impressive projects of a few small firms making big things happen!
Among the many firms visited, I have to mention the impressive lightscapes of l’Intégrale Jean Beaudoin, the many residential transformations that La Shed has realized and that made me dream, and the warm welcome and great projects of the firm Upperkut in their very original offices in the St-Jean Baptiste Church.
The day went beyond my expectations on many levels! Again, I was impressed by the projects that this small firm has worked on at the international level as well as here in Quebec.
The other factor that impressed me was the crowd! Of course, there were professionals in the field but I met so many families helping their children discover great sketches, brilliant high school students that took a sunny Sunday to try and figure out what to do with their lives, and of course, what a pleasure to see Montrealers just discovering the great talent in their town !
Congratulations Design Montreal for this great initiative! See you in 2 years
