Our wedding season started this year with the wedding of Azita and Frank at the Belvedere of the Science centre!
I met them a few months before their wedding and they explained exactly how they envisioned their day. Azita had lots of creative and DIY ideas, while Frank was focused on the entertainment side of things; for both of them, their family and friends were at the heart of this day.
Azita’s family was also involved in the preparations, as the flower arrangements were done by Azita’s aunt and the traditional Persian ceremony table (sofreh) was designed by Azita’s mom and aunts.
The sofreh contains a lot of elements that symbolize specific wishes for the newlyweds.
The mirror and chandeliers represent warmth, light and purity.
The eggs and nuts symbolize fertility. The honey, sugar, and cakes are for the sweet and joyful moments to come in their lives. The ’’Espand’’ grains are there to protect the couple from the evil eye, and finally the bread, fruits and herbs are the symbol of the abundance that is wished upon the couple.
The wedding day was a beautiful one, with a lot of personal touches from the couple as well as heartfelt speeches from their family and friends throughout the evening.
This was truly a great way to start our season !
”Our wedding venue was an empty canvas and we had a lot of DIY projects. We really needed someone to coordinate our wedding day. As our Day of Coordinator, Katayoun went out of her way to help us get organized. She contacted all our vendors to confirm last minute details and even put together checklists and a timeline to make sure we didn’t forget anything. She is a wealth of information and was very responsive to my emails. She met with us several times before our wedding day and went above and beyond her job to make sure everything was perfect!” – Azita & Frank
